Devin Jones Racing will be traveling for its second race weekend in the BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda at Virginia International Raceway (VIR), April 29 through May 1. To ready for his second national race weekend, Jones will also be working with renowned driving coach, Steve Welk.

“I am really looking forward to working with Steve,” said Jones. “He will be a great asset to our program. He will be helping me to work on my drafting technique and to get to know the famous VIR track as quickly as possible. This will be my first time at VIR and I’m ready to put down some fast laps there.”

Steve Welk has been involved in motorsports for 18 years after starting his driving career at the age of eight. In 2009, the motorsports veteran turned his focus from racing to become a test driver and driver coach. Today, Welk works as a development coach assisting several teams with setup work to help improve performance.

VIR is a historic track, located near the North Carolina border in Danville, Virginia. The 3.27 mile road course has been coined one of the most challenging road courses in the country. The 17-turn course features a 3,000-foot straight away and 70 feet elevation changes and is the location for the BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda, Rounds 3 and 4.
